Just a silly watch story.
So my cousin graduated from college recently. As a graduation gift, I got him the new Invicta Pro Diver with the NH35A Seiko Automatic, Hacking, Hand-wind movement. It's not all that fancy, but he's been rocking the Mickey Mouse since he went to Disney as a kid (that is an awesome watch), and I thought he might like something a bit more adult.
I saw him a week ago, and asked why he wasn't wearing the watch, and he said he thought it was too fancy for everyday. I shrugged. To each their own. I saw him yesterday at my grandfathers memorial service, and asked how he liked the watch. He replied that it was nice, but the battery went dead, and he couldn't figure out where to get a new one.
I face-palmed. I am pretty sure I described why it was a cool movement to him, and he could have taken a look at the instruction manual. He was the valedictorian of Cornell this year. I guess he's just not a watch guy.
