Clip vs magazine

For every one downvoting for wrong termanology, I want to help this situation. Airsoft guns use both clips and magaines. There are differences. An easy difference to explain is a pistol uses a clip and a rifle uses a magazine. Another is a clip is internal and a mag is external. So a rifle can have a clip, for example an m1 Garand. I hope I have set some things straight. If someone calls a magazine a clip, downvote or do whatever but if they identify a clip correctly don't say it is a magazine.
