Stories about 'near-miss' (or worse) encounters with hunters?

Recently in Australia they have allowed hunting in National Parks.

There is a lot of controversy about it, but the professional summary seems to be that in Oz the downsides outweigh the benefits... so I'm wondering about you US folk:

Has anyone got any 'near-miss' stories? Or worse, been part of a shooting?
