Can I get some pointers on how to hit the ball high and stop on the green?

I need some pointers on how I can hit the ball high with my pitching wedge, 56 degree, sand, and 9 iron without the ball rolling far. Can anybody help me? this would bring my score down by 5 strokes or more! Thanks!!
