How do you avoid the carbs while away on vacation?
I love Keto. And I do GREAT when I'm home and in my normal routine. Its just... I keep losing and gaining back the same 5 lbs because I am constantly going to visit friends/relatives/going on mini vacations/going to birthday parties, etc--and I am a carbaholic. And on these weekends Im around all sorts of things like bread, ice cream, pasta, brownies, wine/booze (the more booze I drink the worse self control I have, but its bad regardless)etc--and I end up giving in and eating them. I try to be good..and might do good the 1st day, but by the 2nd day Im usually toast. One bad weekend and I come home and the scale says im up 5 lbs and then it takes me 2 whole weeks to come back down to where I was in the beginning.
I have thought about why I do this. And its because, I really do like to eat these things(feels and tastes good)--but also because I feel its special that I am "away" on vacation and that Ill never get the chance to eat xyz item again-a feeling of missing out--and then there's also the feeling that why should I have to suffer by not eating it? I know what my goals are, and I want to achieve it bad! But these things cause me to stumble.
So how? What are good tips and strategies for maintaining the path while you are away? Please help! I am going to visit my family for July 4th for FIVE days! And even before Keto, whenever I come back from visiting them, the scale says I gained 8lbs usually. Help!
