Fellow musicians, should we promote this subreddit on /r/Music?
There's a million followers of r/music and 2k followers of this subreddit. That's about 0.5%. One thing I'm interested in is raising awareness of independent musicians. Sure there are several million indies in the world. But only about 20k or so on reddit (based on the r/wearethemusicmakers #'s) My personal story is before I started a year ago making music in earnest, I had no idea there was all this indie music out there. Just seems like we're under-appreciated and I'm tired of all the "screw the labels" rhetoric while completely ignoring the label-less masses. What do you think?
Edit: Unlike other subreddits, such as r/basketweaving (/jk) there are fair number people who could be members but not music contributors. Here's a potential title of a r/Music post: "We are the 0.5%, musicians of reddit, subscribe to r/ThisOurMusic to support and enjoy the talents of our fellow Redditors."
Edit #2: I submitted a post on r/Music that will be downvoted to oblivion and messaged the mods. However it goes, at least we gave it a shot. Thanks for the ideas and support.
