Hey Halifax people! What's it like living there?

Hey guys, I'm thinking about checking out NSCAD next year and I was trying to get a feel for what it's like living there! I'm hoping to visit in the fall but first I wanted to find out some stuff. A few things I'm wondering about: What's the weather like, generally speaking? How's the music scene? What's the general vibe of the city? Like is it sort of sleepy and slow like a small town, chill like the west coast, official like ottawa, cultured and fast-paced like montreal? How does the cost of living compare to other canadian cities?

Anything you can tell me about what life is like in Halifax would be much appreciated (:
