New to producing, need help on what to buy

Hey fellas, I plan on returning my new guitar in hope to buy some equipment to help me produce music. I have ableton and I have $300 to spend on essential equipment. I have no clue about the equipment needed and would appreciate if someone pushed me in the right direction. I'd like something to press to make music instead of clicking around on ableton to make sounds, I guess like a midi keyboard? sorry that this post is too broad
