New update sped up my phone.

I updated my OG evo 4g on Friday (June 22nd) and it gave me an extra 70 MB of ram. It went up from 170 to 240 MB. During this time I didn't remove any apps. I haven't noticed any other differences other than the Sprint connections optimizer (I still have no idea what this does). Did anyone have this happen, and are there any other things that I didn't see?
