Toilet with air pressurized flush help?

My toilet has an air-powered flush (to the best of my understanding.) It is really powerful, but slowly decreases in the power of each flush until it's barely nothing. Then, when I least expect it, the toilet revives itself and resumes at full power, and the cycle then continues. What can I do to regulate this, and how might I reset the power manually? Thanks!
