1985 Chilean Mauser info

Anyone have any info they could share with me regarding my Chilean Mauser Model 1895. Serial #C2776. I have found some interesting info alluding to the possiblitly that this rifle was part of a shipment bound to South Africa for the Boer war, but the lot was intercepted by the British and eventually sold to Chile. Any help would be great, I can post some pics if there is any interest.
