Comet Shred 38 Height problems

Hey guys, I recently purchased a Shred 38 and put Gullwing bombers on it (the only trucks I had with the right width). The problem is it the board just feel too high and I feel like I do not have enough control. My last deck is was a EW supermodel so that might have something to do with my height issues. Would getting different trucks help lower the board and give me more control? I am currently using 65mm wheels. Thank you for any help.
