Does anyone else keep a basic "In Case of Death" manual with or within their rifle?
Fair Warning: SHTF Musings Incoming
For about a year now I've kept a very, very basic, compact manual in the stock of my AR15. It's essentially a printout of fundamental firearm safety rules, how to operate the weapon, and steps for maintenance, along with some additional survival-related information. I borrowed from several sources.
I have explained to several of my friends how to go about using and maintaining an AR15, and even more of my gun-owning (but not AR15-owning) friends could probably figure it out on their own. However I've never gone over any of it the majority of my family members, other friends, or my girlfriend. Not to mention the millions of people out there who have never even touched a firearm.
Reason being, although obviously I don't have a death wish, I like to prepare for the worst. If for whatever reason I were incapacitated or killed, I wouldn't want my rifle to become nothing more than an expensive paperweight in untrained hands. Better it remain a useful tool should the worst happen.
Just wondering if anyone here does something similar. More importantly I'm simply presenting the idea in case it hadn't occurred to somebody subscribed to this subreddit.
