We also know that Beaver is another term for female genitalia.

Was wood referenced, then people though "Hey, beavers eat (gnaw, whatever) on wood, lets call the vagina a beaver.

OR

Was the vagina named beaver and people thought. "Hey the beaver eats (whatever!) wood, lets name the dick wood.
