CBR250 - What a FUN bike

Attended a Honda "Come Ride With Us" event today. I've been eyeing up the CBR250Rs for a while now and when I heard Honda was doing a demo day I couldn't pass up the chance to take one for a spin. It was a black and silver 2012.

Given the riding I do, I was pretty sure a 250 would be plenty. We picked up a Ninja 250 for my wife a month or so ago as she is just learning to ride. I definitely like her bike, but the tank ridge is too low for me.

For those with CBR250s, a couple quick questions. How generous is the speedometer at around 100km/h? On the ride I had it up to an indicated 122, but I wasn't able to have my GPS with me to see actual speed. My guess is we were doing about 110. Second question, at a light, the bike would not shift from N to 1st until I rolled it back a bit. I've heard this is not uncommon with some bikes. Is this a long term concern?
