Car safety course gave me a certificate for the insurance company, do I need to send that in?

Got a speeding ticket, plead no contest, got the safety course done and I'm sending all that to the court well ahead of the deadlines.

The safety course also send in a certificate for the insurance company but do I need to send that in? Just hold onto it? I'm not sure if the court lets them know, points-wise.

I would tell you to call your company if your rate goes up because of the ticket.

Where I work, for example, if the ticket is still on your MVR as a conviction, the safety course isn’t going to be enough for us to take it off, and we don’t give a discount for a course unless you’re a certain age (depending on state requirements).

EDIT to add: we also don’t give a discount for a course that’s mandated by the courts or one that was taken to reduce points for a ticket.
