Now that school's out for summer, let me reiterate the rules and their enforcement for those who have not yet learned how to read them on their own.

I'm seeing a lot of meme-related crap and meta-reddit posts creeping up in here again, and that simply will not do. So, first, please familiarize yourself with the FWP policy on link posts before posting an offsite link, which you should almost never do.

Posts about reddit (or Facebook, or 9gag) are not permitted. Posts that rely on another reddit post for context are not permitted. Posts that are a variation on a theme that has already been posted are not permitted. Posts without the full and complete problem in the title of the post are not permitted. Posts that rely on racist, sexist, or homophobic punchlines are not permitted.

Guidelines for making a successful post:

1. The post is your own original content.
2. The full problem is in the post title.
3. The post is submitted as a self post.
4. The problem is not in any way related to reddit, reddit competitors, or social media outlets like Facebook (it's simply been done to death).

The rules are posted publicly in the sidebar and this explanation of them is linked to in our alert banner. If you can't be bothered to read the rules, then I can't be bothered to warn you about them. Therefore any rule violation subjects the poster to an immediate ban without warning.

Myself and the rest of the mod team here have put in a concerted effort to avoid having FWP decline in quality as it grows. We appreciate your efforts in helping us improve the quality of this reddit by following the posting guidelines. Ultimately, that just makes this place a better and longer-lived fun experience for all of us.
