Gun Crime

I lived in Chicago my whole life and for as long as I can remember I heard gun crimes on the news. I’m tired of hearing my conservative family members opinions on gun crimes and want to hear a different perspective. How do you stop gun crimes in a way that doesn’t effect law obeying citizens? What do you think this country has to do to address this problem? I don’t know anything about guns myself but want to learn more and eventually become a gun owner.
