Medical University of Warsaw - non EU (Australian) student.

[Clinical]

Hi all, I’ve just been offered a place at the Medical University of Warsaw and had a few questions/concerns.

  • How friendly is Uni and/or Warsaw? My biggest concern is that I’ll be isolated and lonely. Any other aussies going there, please connect with me!!

  • Studying Medicine is never going to be easy but how is the English Program? I’ve read elsewhere on this subreddit that some instructors may deliver their content in semi-polish, making it difficult to grasp content. How true is this?

  • is it difficult to move to other countries to practise Medicine? Are there additional exams you need to sit if I want to move to other EU countries?

  • Is it possible to defer my offer and start next year or will I have to reapply? I’m still waiting to find out if I’ll get an offer from Australian schools so im undecided if I should just move to Poland and give up on Aus Med schools.

  • I have some temporary health issues that may require medical attention. What is healthcare like in Warsaw for intentional students? Obviously I’ll need health insurance but idk if I’ll need to wait long periods to see specialists.

I’ve read the guides on Polish Universities but couldn’t find answers for my questions. TIA!!
