Looking for a solution for spotty signals in high traffic areas

Advice

Hello,

So for work, we use a router to connect some Android phones to act as remotes with our computers/software.

Recently at a tradeshow (JEC in Paris), they were very unresponsive.. seemed like the messages that were sent from the Androids didn’t reach the computer consistently. I’m assuming due to the large volume of other networks around and just the amount of people and their devices.

We do use a pretty cheap Netgear router to connect them and I’m wondering if better hardware may solve this problem or are we just SOL? Is there any hardware someone would recommend?

Thanks in advance! :)

I would look into newer Wifi6E gear. The 6GHz band has much more space available, so it should be easier to find non-interfering channels and the range is slightly smaller, which should reduce interference.

6E gear is still a bit leading edge. There have been phones for a couple of years and routers for about a year.
