Sword World 2.0 – Core Rulebook EX (Complete Translation)

Translation

Hi! This book is quite special and it is not easy to describe this book from 2015 in the usual bullet-point style. So allow me to give two explanations about it: for new to SW2.0 players and for experienced players.

For New to SW2.0 Players

Core Rulebook EX complements original Core Rulebooks and contains rules and data from 6 main supplements. In order to reduce the volume hurdle, this book is based on the Sword World 2.0 Core Rulebook I Revised Edition as the data source. Specifically, the data is provided on the assumption that the level of the player characters (PCs) is 6 levels or lower. The monster rules are also not included, except for the ones that are used by the PCs. This book is perfect for players or GMs wanting to start playing Sword World 2.0 with as much content as possible. It contains references to all six main supplements so you can continually expand your game when you feel comfortable with these rules.

In short for new players it contains (not present in Core Rulebooks):

- Revised Combat Feats (up to 6th level)

- Advanced Combat Rules

- Deep Magic

- Revised Golem Rules (up 6th level golems)

- Revised Fairy Magic

- Revised Magitech Magic

- Many optional rules

- Revised and many new spells (up to 6th level)

- Revised and many new items (B, A, S-Ranks, and up to 10,000G)

- New fairies to summon and mounts to control.

- And many more!

For Experience Players

As you may know, there were released six main SW2.0 supplements from 2009 up to 2014: Alchemist Works, Barbarous Tales, Wizards Tome, Cardia Grace, Ignis Blaze, and Lumiere Legacy.

But these books are quite huge. And to reduce the barrier of entry Sword World 2.0 Core Rulebook EX was released in 2015. It contains rules and data excerpted from main supplements, allowing you to easily and inexpensively (it’s in bunko format originally as Core Rulebooks) obtain rules and data from these supplements.

So why it should be useful if you’ve read supplements and already use them in your game? Well, the last two main supplements Ignis Blaze and Lumiere Legacy aren’t translated fully yet. And because of this for experience players this book offers:

- Low-level combat feats, spells, and items all in one book (this is useful as they are most used in most games).

- Revised Golem Rules (from Ignis Blaze up 6th level golems)

- Revised Fairy Magic (from Ignis Blaze you now can summon olden fairies up to 7th level).

- Revised and many new items. Some old magic items got upgraded, cheaper versions (from Lumiere Legacy, B, A, S-Ranks, and up to 10,000G).

- New and Updated Mounts and Additional Sections for Mounts (from Lumiere Legacy, up to 6th level)

- Updated rules and spells that take into account new combat feats, and classes. Also some clarified rules like for Area: Line and Area: Breakthrough.

- And it’s a good book to give to new players as their first SW2.0 supplement.
