'code 51' still for banning customers?

Could mean different things depending on context I guess. I was at a register, AM at another who called over the radio "Code 51 in progress, witnessed it myself" (not on the store-wide intercom). Didn't see anyone walking/running out, weekend seems odd for an armored truck dropoff/pickup does that just leave the "CUSTOMER HAS BEEN USING TOO MANY COUPONS AND MUST BE BANNED" option?

I did have a few coupons, 4 maybe 5 but being 'soft' banned for that seems...excessive.

Code 51 means there is over 500$ cash in the register. They like to keep the amount under 500 at any given time because it makes counting money easier at the end of the day. The term itself sounds so intense for something so trivial, so it was probably just the employees making light of that.

Code 51 is when a the register has over $500 in the register and the cashier is required to tell the management because it pops up on the screen and they have to come and take it to the safe lol

more likely it's some stupid inside joke they have about people who use lots of coupons. nobody is banning you for doing something they spam you daily with emails asking you to do. retail workers are just bored and goofy.

Yes, this is the answer

Lmao no, it’s the code that pops up on the screen when you have more that $500 in you’re register and the manager has to come deposit it to the same

no.

There’s no “soft” or hard banned.. you’re either banned or you’re not. That being said, you won’t get either for coupons

Pay cash to remain anonymous when using too many coupons

Screw that, I’ll use as many coupons as that register will allow and count. I have no shame in saving money.

Shit, when I ordered my Icon box the cashier was helping me find every coupon possible to save on it, without me even asking.

Your logic makes no sense. You can’t apply more than one coupon to the same item wether it’s cash or card.

Using 4-5 coupons ? You think they'll let you use that many and then use that against you to ban you from the store ?

It's called mind your business and don't steal and you shouldn't be worried haha. But no it's a code that has NOTHING to do with a customer. Lol. Also, feel free to use a coupon on every item you purchase if you have one. We don't mind you saving money at all !!! 👍

That’s why we use earpieces at my harbor freight store. Been in a couple situations were customers hear something they were not supposed to when somebody on the sales floor doesnt have an earpiece.

"Code 51" alone means nothing that customers need to know but the rest of what they said makes me think that they're using it to call out theft as well. I wouldn't assume it was about you if it was said while you were at the register.

No it’s means you have over $500 in cash.

Probably. I'm still shopping at HF when there's competitors with the same prices, better quality and I don't have to drive hours to get to...

turtlehermitroshi•

What's the point of going to HF for then?

I'm calling you an idiot for assuming that a code 51 has anything to do with you. Much less a "soft ban" of a customer. How would that work? Ban the customer but don't tell them? That already doesnt make sense, but instead of brushing it off you went full throttle and assumed it was because of a coupon. There's no reasoning behind this. Just assumptions and jumping to more assumptions.

They paged something over the radio like many stores do at many times. It was a coincidence that you were standing near them at the time.

I don't care if you shop there or HD just stop assuming.

What competitors you talking about? I’m fed up with HFs quality at this point and really want to not go as much
