Rooted
Sitting in the park,
planted on a bench,
rooted through my thighs and
watered through my crown.
Water waves in ripples,
sun beams in a wide live line,
I sit and type this poem,
wondering
do I need to make it rhyme?
I try to compartmentalize life,
through a mere thought and silent breath,
and realize quickly that there is no way
to separate pieces that are meant to blend together.
So instead, I feel.
Rather than think
I feel
Rather than remember
I feel
then release
Rather than regret
I thank the world
for the ability to have felt
the way I have felt.
I intertwine my vines into the earth
through my feet,
and photosynthesize
through my eyes
to water the grass.
I give back to what allowed me to feel in the first place,
the particles and cells
that we are all a part of.
That we all are.
