58%, 62%, or 65% rH for Rubbermaid Brilliance tupperdores (75-79*F temps)

NSFW

Hi guys,

I have several Rubbermaid Brilliance tupperdores. I have read that in these air-tight containers, 69 rH is too high.

I smoke $2-6 sticks and none of them are Cubans.

I am storing my cigars in a small room where the AC is always kept on 24-26C (75-79F), during the day and night respectively.

  1. I don't want to risk my cigars going moldy
  2. I probably prefer my cigars dryer and I am in a tropical climate

I am thinking considering the temperatures here, I should aim for a lower rH (62).

Is my thinking correct? Or, considering my higher than average temps, should I consider even going lower (58 rH)

Thank you! I know this topic has been debated to death but I am having trouble deciding.

I would go with 62rh packs if I were you with your preferences

64-65rh is my jam. I know many serious cigar smokers will keep them at 62rh as well. On average, non Cubans burn a bit too hot for me at that low an rh, but YMMV.

I use 65 bovedas. you can do 62 if you really want to but with the Brilliance containers the outside humidity won't matter. I've heard people recommend going lower with tuppordors bc they think they will hold a higher humidity but I've never seen any evidence using my Rubbermaid Brilliance containers. I use 65 bovedas and they stay at 65 without fail.

Jumping on the bandwagon. Is 62rH still good for Cubans when the temp is roughly 64-69 F year around?

I have those and I use 65% Humi-Smart humidification packs.

Boveda 62% works great in Atlanta where the house is around 78° all summer long. Some smokes even seem a tad damp so I will "dry box" those with a 58% pack.
