Finished Kingdom's of Death by Christopher Ruocchio, waiting on the next book. Normally I take it easy after large epics but Lucifers Star wasn't my cup of tea.

So onto what Ruocchio clearly took inspiration on, and then the Dune series again.

Gene Wolfe’s Book of the New Sun! I read that about 4 years ago, but I’m thinking it’s time for a reread. Heady stuff. I wasn’t piping back then, so you’re seriously motivating me!

You are in for a treat! My favorite fantasy books by far!

Personally I'm not fond of fantasy. But 10 chapters in I'm going to say it's a high tech scifi setting but one that's in deep decline.

That's fair.

The best description I've heard of the Book of the New Sun's setting is "a sci-fi world, as described by a narrator with a fantasy vocabulary"

Resurrection and death...hmm...sounds intriguing. I want to know more. Doesn't resurrection come after death or is it one is resurrected at the expense of another? Hmm...
