Anybody know a good Pitty training video or website. My 18 month old rescue is wild when company comes over. Not mean just crazy.

It's not really a training technique, but I take mine out for a vigorous game of fetch about an hour before company comes over. It puts her in a lower energy state of mind.

Also - train your humans. Yay f the dog is jumping or overexcited, turn away / ignore them until they settle down. It’s hard to get friends and family to do this but it’s a great tool.

Pretty hard to just ignore a 60 lb dog throwing herself at you.

I've started putting my 10 month old on a leash when people come over. When he acts up we walk away to another room until he calms down. Then, we go back until he acts up again.

It takes him 10ish minutes to calm down before we started this "go somewhere else" thing. Now he's starting to calm down in 5-10 minutes.

Look at Kikopup’s YouTubevideos. She is a positive reinforcement (R+) trainer and has videos on behavior modification (and almost every other topic).

A free YouTube trainer will only get you so far and I suggest working with a professional trainer or behaviorist. In the U.S., the two major professional organizations for behaviorists and trainers are International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants and Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers.
