Two worlds (TW suicide)
(this poem isn't perfect but it means a lot to me)
My fingers
Intertwined betwixt two worlds
A variation, an abnormality, some will say
Or perhaps a tumor?
Two worlds, enveloping me and my surroundings
Two worlds so different, they could destroy each other
Two worlds that were never meant to meet
Yet they meet at either side of me
I would not call myself a hero
In fact, perhaps the opposite
But to again separate these two worlds, will benefit those I love
So I fasten
And the threads take form
And as I question my purpose as a cog on the machine of life
And as I remember the best moments I've had
I remember my friends
And they give me the courage to march onward
They might be sad to see me go, but perhaps I'm wrong, and we will unite once more.
So I step
I refuse to look back
And as the stagnant, ever colder air, creates a breeze through the tendrils of my hair,
I begin to change my mind
But with a hearty, cervical snap, balance is restored
And though I mightn’t return to my people
I have done the best I can
All I can do to spread the joy wasted on me, has been done.
So I swing dormant
With an everlasting smile
On my forever fading face
These worlds, once wrapped around my fingers, forever out of my reach, have become one.
One cruel place of dwelling, for those like me.
Yet a paradise for those like her.
