To tell you the truth I don't know the difference

Between love and fire

Because that night when you shifted

And your back touched my palm and we didn't pull back

Felt like a thousand starlings lifted into the sky

Making me feel truly alive

And you are a deep burnt red

Tell me your trauma and I'll tell you mine

Watch fireworks from the reflections in my eyes

Stay with me and walk for awhile

Because I don’t want love like blazing light

I want longer; embers burning late into the night
