The devs and modders.

Over the past couple days I've noticed a drastic increase in people cheating. I remmeber them saying they were going to do a hud watermark. Idc personally. It's not like there is a leaderboard or anything. Just curious if they plan to ban people for it. Are they actually putting people in seporated lobbies? There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of information. I'd really like to see the devs clear things up and make their stance officially stated. If anyone can shed somelight on this I'd love to hear what you have to say!

Just know not everybody is cheating, some are just victims to this and shouldnt be punished! There is a big plague going around right now in random matchmaking were pc players mod your character whitout any of your consent.

Example ➡️ https://www.reddit.com/r/outriders/comments/w3if5x/joined_a_pc_lobby_and_this_happened_20_days_down/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

I suggest to protect yourself by playing as host (they cant alter unless they are host), if you are a console player turn cross play off (only pc players can do this), or join a moderated discord with trusted members. I suppose they are aware off this, but I will tag u/thearcan to make sure of it ✌

This is the kind of response I was looking for. I have a genuin concern that the devs might get serious about it and people who didn't even realize what was happening will find their accounts subject to punishment. It doesn't bother me in the slightest if someone wants to cheat in their own game. I do however care If I'm running a risk of losing my account because of it. Thank you for your reply!

Well, you just answered your own question in a sense: namely, it’s too late for PCF to do anything about it precisely because too many innocent players would get caught up in any punishment. If cheaters could affect only their own game, then PCF could act. Now? Not so much.

It’s too late for them to try to punish people now when they have let this run loose since day one yet decide to nerf hard working players. I say let them go bananas. They are the only people who are gonna keep this game going when everyone else leaves this mess. Just don’t join randoms. It’s crap joining them anyway and you could fall victim if you don’t want it to happen to you.

I am on the same boat as you, still waiting for my ticket support, I joined a friend and then a random guy mod hour character to like 100m level points now when I try to play my character get freeze and then I have to quit the game.

Additionally, the grind to apo 40 is complete boring and you can‘t switch easily to another build because you have always to upgrade your gear which is behind. 2nd all the stuff again with 2nd 3th characters?

Oh I 100000% percent agree. I've been very heavily considering it. I just wanted some people's input on the devs position. Clearly they do not even care if easy anticheat is completely gone.

Definitely don’t have to lvl up everything every single time

I am kind of curious as to A) why people do this, and B) how can anyone even tell?

I ask because I play with two friends pretty much exclusively. We have been playing together for years and tend to min/max the shit out of our toons in these kinds of games. As a result bosses simply melt. Things die so fast that, from my perspective, the time it would take to mod anything to cheat would just be wasted time. Everything already dies fast. Which leads me to the second question...when the final boss of the trial is dying in less than 30 seconds anyway, how would we even know if we ended up filling a vacancy with a random third?

That said, in a game like this I don't really care if people want to cheat...when playing solo (or even in a group setting where everyone is aware and cool with it).

Im afraid its the opposite. They removed the Easy Anticheat altogether. The watermark was a empty threat to cheaters. I used a trainer very early on after release cause the drop rates were absolute crap back then (still are) and never got marked

I actually noticed this today when I loaded in. I realized the easy anti-cheat window doesn't show up anymore. But until I read your comment my brain did not process this information at all. So on that note it's pretty clear they have taken the route of "eh what can we do"

They couldn’t even follow through on the anti-cheater stance haha. Banned people in the beta for using the clock exploit for PURPLES in the beta. Can’t even ban people for cheating on public lobbies. Bonkers

Honestly before WS i looked down at cheaters but now i'm Apoc 32 , build done on 1st char that facerolls everything solo idk how anyone could expect or more importantly be expected to do this on all 4 classes legit it's just a complete joke the way the game is atm & it needs to change soon it's feelin way worse than the also completely pointless GM bounty grind in Destiny 2 only your having to do it 4 times or just uninstall and forget it ever existed .

First off.. It’s not a PVP GAME . How about you close your fireteam & go play solo instead of worrying what other’s are doing! The game doesn’t have a big community as it is! Never has

You also didn't read the post did you? There seems to be an epidemic of people who can't read these days. Go figure.

If you look at the monthly players on Steam and monthly users of WeMod for Outriders you can see that more than 60 percent use mods. This says enough about the terrible drop rates.

I don’t think the devs will do anything about it since it is a PVE game. There are also many stories of people their game got modded by joining a modder lobby. So if they flag or ban a lot of people would be banned falsely.

Getting full skins sets is sooooooo hard in this game that a mod is the only solution. The game does not reward people for their time put in it like borderlands/wonderlands/division does with their drop numbers and targeted loot.

I absolutely agree. And in all honesty if the devs would just make a clear statement on the issue I'd probably mod to increase my drop rates as well. I just don't wanna risk losing my account. I know Alot of people can't spend hours and hours grinding just to get duplicates and garbage. I myself don't get a too much game time these days. I completely understand people's reasoning. Thank you for your input!!

AdmiralBumHat•

Yeah absolutely. They didn’t do anything for a year about it and I don’t think they will do anything now. They would destroy most of the playerbase that is still there.

I never understood their terrible loot drop system and nerfings. They were so proud announcing they were not a live service and no microtransactions. Yet they make us grind way more and reward us way less than a free to play live service game. And all the empty cheater threatening on release and making it online server dependent. PCF are very strange developers. :)

Brother, you took the words out of my mouth. I sing very high praises for outriders. I love this game, but boy oh boy does it have issues. For example, they claimed they fixed the system where Tiago wouldn't show worldslayer weapons to non-worldslayer accounts. I still get them. Oh, and I'm apoc teir 18 and again, I don't own world slayer... Now that I think about that, I wonder if that's the result of a bug or me falling Into a modded lobby. Regardless I do love this game, and I'll keep playing it. In the future however, I may have to pull out the wemod and increase those drop rates

2

Actually its not that hard to complete a skin library farming bosses and rerolling gear at Tiago store, not sure about new blue sets which are probably obtainable on lower gear lvls

2
AtticaBlue•

Not true. All those games—and every other—are filled with cheaters as well. Difficulty of getting loot isn’t the reason. They cheat because they can (and because they are in general very lazy people).

What an absolute shit take. The only thing this says something about is the playerbase that always wants everything right now. A content creator posted a new build? Gotta have everything for that within an hour or else it's "terrible drop rates".

Have they affected your own gameplay in a negative way?

-13
SolarrusOP•

You clearly didn't read the whole post. I specifically said I don't care as there's no leader boards or anything. So if you don't have any new information to add, or even the ability to read, go away?

Funny that a simple question arouses so much anger in you hahaha

N u clearly have not answered whether has it affected you negatively. Nvm, from your anger I can tell lol
