Earth Mother
(I've read the guidelines. I hope I am doing this right. It's pretty intimidating here. If I make a mistake please let me know and give me a chance to fix the post.)
Feet meet the ground.
Needles soft,
Make the sound.
You will catch my fall.
Yes you will.
Oh ancient one.
I can feel you in the air,
Every rock,
That's mossed and bare.
Take my hand.
Make me whole,
Please ancient one.
Sing to me your silver river.
With the birds,
And ferns that rustle shiver.
Cleanse my soul.
Help me breathe.
I know you can.
Send the tendrils of your lifeforce.
Beady eyes,
Beneath the sharp gorse.
Hiding there.
With beating hearts.
Bestowed by you.
You’re the light between the leaves,
Golden rays.
Through woodland eaves.
Creating order.
Cycles too,
My Matriarch.
So I will stay here for a while.
Sit in your lap,
And fly a smile.
As your daughter.
As your subject.
For I am home.
