Printer Ink Subscriptions

Has anyone used a printer ink subscription? I am working from home at the moment so I will need the ability to print high volumes of materials to send to my BTs. I see HP has an 'Instant Ink' program which seems promising, but I also see poor reviews about the timeliness and general value. I feel that it could be really beneficial since I will now be responsible for printing PECS and other similar materials.

Edit: Would a laser printer be a better option for high volume printing from home?
