If laptop doesn't even get to bios, is it beyond repair?

Downvotes are not substitutes for a yes or a no.

Our family has an old and abused laptop which apparently broke long time ago for some reason. It turns on but the screen is black and it doesn't even get to the bios screen. I remember it used to have a problem where it froze/rebooted after the bios screen, but you could get it working by bending the laptop while it was booting.

Is it completely doomed now, or could it be that some part is just broken and could be replaced?
