Review:
There’s a lot to love about this book. Firstly, it seamlessly follows up the first book and capitalizes on the interesting plot and fantastic LI system already in place. This book even adds in two new LI’s: Alana, a character we knew from Book 1, and Khaan, a new character introduced in this book. However, unlike the main three LI’s, Alana and Khaan suffer from a lack of romantic screen time and diamond scenes. I’d say they’re more psued0-LI’s than anything, which is a shame, because I really love Khaan, and a lot of people seem to love Alana. Like, neither of them get anything more than a kiss with M/C. I still love the polyamory option in this game though, and I love how all the LI’s are so accepting and supportive of M/C being poly, even if they themselves are not. In terms of the plot, I think it was wrapped up pretty well in this book. I do think that it was maybe a tad bit rushed, and I would have liked to see Eros being a little more threatening, and maybe a better comeuppance/ending scene for Rowan and Cecile. I also would have liked some closure on Harley, and an appearance from Keegan in the final chapter to wrap up the whole plotline of the Matches seeking rights. These are all minor complaints, though, in the grand scheme of things. I do have one major complaint about this book, and this complaint is the reason I knocked two points off (that and no Khaan sex scene lol). There is a graphical glitch in this book that only occurs if you are playing as male M/C, around Chapter 7-8. Basically, at the end of Chapter 7, M/C is offered a premium outfit to blend in at the Eros training thing in the next chapter. However, regardless of M/C’s gender, and regardless of whether you buy the premium outfit or not, M/C will be wearing the female M/C’s outfit. This means that male M/C looks exceptionally awkward, with a dress that doesn’t even cover his sprite, and glasses that are completely off center and not on his eyes at all. The worst part of this glitch is the aftermath. You can change your outfit in Chapter 9 via the closet, and that gets rid of the dress, but the glasses? Those are stuck on your face for the rest of the book. Male M/C has no accessories or anything to offset the glasses, at least as far as I can tell, and so you are stuck with off-center glasses marring M/C’s sprite for the rest of the book. I couldn’t appreciate any of the outfits or even take M/C seriously with those glasses just stuck there. It may seem a petty complaint, but it just kinda soured the experience for me. However, the book overall is still quite enjoyable, and graphical glitch aside, it is still just as dear to my heart as the first book.
