99% of people singing about fenians or huns couldn’t tell you one thing that’s different between Protestantism and Catholicism.

That would be an ecumenical matter.

Nearly.

That's Anglicanism, which is a TYPE of Protestantism. Protestantism is literally and figuratively a broad church.

It’s simple, my version is good and godly and their version is bad(possibly satanic at that).

I went through four years of catholic school as a Presbyterian, I’m aware of the opinion the church has regarding the reformation. Really fun lessons when the teacher would turn to me as if I was the spokesperson for every Protestant in the world.

What's mental is that neither hun nor fenian has anything to do with anyone's religion.

Hun was a reference to rangers tearing apart European competition and being compared to Atila and his band of warriors. And fenian is from a band of mythical irish warriors.

I mean, that's how words work 😂

Gay had nout to do with sexuality until people decided it did. Just what happens

But fenian and hun still don't have anything to do with religion.

I don't believe in religion but being of Irish Catholic descent I'd be offended at being called a tXig or tXrrier but never at the word fenian.

They didn't start out that way but they do have sectarian connotations these days. Not in every context, but there is a context for it.

It might not offend you, but that doesn't make it any less offensive to wider society.

Literally the only reason I went to the Non-denominational school was because my Dad was convinced I wouldn't get a job if I didn't and I didn't believe him, was raging all my pals went to the Catholic High Achool. Been asked what school I went to in every interview I've ever had.

Can't believe that's still a thing. Thought it ended in the 70s. He was right and I'm honestly glad, in a fucked up way.

Coming from the borders, land of hand egg, and working in the west coast at 30+ after leaving the army. The reason behind the question had to be explained to me. What was better was when asked the name of the Catholic school in my town I replied " we don't have one." The questioner the asked. " so you don't educate catholics in the borders." Fucking weird 😐
