Fuck this, this is pointless
I play video games and watch YouTube because the alternative is a deep abyss of fucking boredom. Gaming isn’t the problem for me it’s the solution. I am lonely and I take every crumb of social interaction I can get whenever I can get it. I am tired of constantly making massive efforts to stay social and stay in touch with people and socialise and not getting the same energy back. I haven’t failed by playing video games and watching YouTube, the loneliness in society has failed me. Stopping video games right now feels dumb. So this is my post. I have “failed”. I have gone from not playing for 6 months to playing 12 hours a day again. It’s not an addiction I’m indulging, I just don’t have any other options. I’m not gonna sit here and start reading books and any other hobby I were to do, guess what, I constantly have to look tutorials up for on YouTube fucking anyway… Anything I do basically is on the computer including my job and the more time I spend on the computer, the more I dissociate from life. So I’m gonna clock out of life from now on. See y’all when we’re old. None of y’all are better than me for not gaming or watching YouTube, you’ve just convinced yourselves that you are.

You do you mate. I can sympathise with people not putting in the same effort to socialise with you as you're giving out.
If you feel gaming's the answer to your problems, then go for it. It's okay to take time for yourself once in a while. Constant socialising can be draining.
No-one's going to physically force you to keep doing this if you don't want to. I hope you just try and look out for yourself and at least keep hygiene in check for your own sake.
We're not here to be better than you - we're here to better ourselves and overcome our addiction. Your circumstances are different to mine, and vice versa. Some of us just want out and need that little extra push to get there.
When it comes to the whole "holier than thou" thing, that's just how social media like reddit tends to be (as well as some real life people). Sometimes you just have to blot those kinds of people out, and focus on the positive ones. Best of luck in your future endeavours.
Thanks man, I appreciate it
