That looks like a big king (only bk burger I know that has a middle bun) which are significantly smaller than the others they sell. That bun looks like a whopper bun which would look comically large on a big king.
Maybe they ran out of big king buns and just gave you a standard whopper bun?

Looks like someone's chewed on that patty. Ours in Canada are still the same size as the buns, haven't changed since I could ever remember.

Yo OP, it's possible someone in the assembly line messed up. Either the wrong patty was given or someone split a patty to rush two orders. My friend used to work in KFC and told us this happened and when the customer complained, the worker got fired.
Or that the BK really gives small patties.
