Not really related to sarging: Almost got into a fight. How do you guys handle situations like this?

Yo guys! I was at work today, working as a cashier. Perfect time to work on inner game, figure out how to make conversations interesting, and to find out what this whole "pinging" thing is.

Perfect timing too.

There was this couple in their early 20s. I do the whole "Hey, how's it going?" thing. They say good. Whatever.

She tells her boyfriend to start bagging the groceries, and I help too. He does two soda bottles slowly, and I take care of everything else. I feel him glaring at me as I do so, so I looked back at him for like a second feeling hostility.

To lighten the mood, as she pays for the groceries, I leave two other soda bottles for the guy and say "I'll let you take those" with a "Homosexual Handwave" gesture and go back to take care of pushing some buttons.

He stops, looks at me, and says "It's your job" and I did do it. 'cause it was my job. I ignored everything and kept a smile on my face. Then as I turn around to get the receipt and I hear him say, "He's a douche".

Still trying to ignore it for my inner game training. But my subconscious was saying "What is going on?" and my body was getting ready to fight. I handed her the receipt and said with a smile, "Have a nice day. Try not to party too hard". Usually when I say that to customers, they laugh and qualify themselves to me. Or just laugh. Or fake laugh.

No. She turns around and says "Keep talking. Want me to get your manager?"

I said "What?" 'cause I actually didn't hear at the time. She repeats it.

What is going on? Usually women know when a guy's being a dick. I realized, of course she was gonna side with her boyfriend. This is the part where I lose:

At a loss for words, still smiling, I just raised my arms to the air in a "Bring it" way. He starts walking to me and says "You wouldn't do this to that guy" and points to the next guy in my line. Still confused, I just made the "Walk away" gesture with my hand and continue what I do; say "Hey how's it going?"

I brushed it off on the surface, but inside I was twitching with anger. The next guy was hesitant, but the guy after that was on my side. And it made my insides feel better. Kinda. I used this experience in future interactions at work. "Hey, how's it going?" "Good! Yourself?" "Oh, just almost got into a fight. The usual."

Good way to start off working on my inner game.

So, fellow rAFCs, PUAs... how do you handle fights when there's a guy who's giving you beef? I never asked for this beef, but he just kept on spoon feeding me beef.

And how the hell do you calm down after a situation like this?
