Mk9 tutorial

So I got mortal kombat 9, and I figured I'd go to the tutorial to get ready to play. The game asks me to do some kombos, square square square. I do that and it works. Then it asks me to do square square circle. Johnny cage is doing the move, but the game isn't recognizing my doing it. Just a glitch?
