Yet another car suggestion thread, Need some suggestions for cars, upwards $15k

Things are looking good for my new company, I started a few months ago, love it here.

I get paid decently and my mom wants to swap cars, she's gonna let me fix up her SUV and sell it off for extra money for a "new" used car, and I'm gonna give her my 2001 Suzuki Grand Vitara, which I take decent care of.

I'm looking for suggestions on cars, I'm in no rush, but I'd like to do research on the car's that people recommend to me.

This is gonna be my daily driver,

it's gotta be fun to drive,

American, Japanese, European, it doesn't matter, I'm not racist

but I'd prefer maintenance to be cost efficient.

I'm not looking for a project car.

Spacious would be nice.

Coupe/Sedan/Wagon/Hatch, I'm open to all body types

Please lend me your wisdom

I'll thrown in an UPDATE, op will surely deliver.
