my parents fight. redditors, any advice on how to appease them?

i'm a teenager. my parents have been fighting on and off for about six years now. i would say it's escalated a heap in the past year or so. their fights have a wide variety of instigators. the latest one is that my dad watches this indian television show very often and at one point my mom complained that he wasn't talking to her very much. now my mother can be quite naggy, but my father overreacts to everything and can blow up without warning. this happened a while ago but was brought up again in a very childish way. bottom line is, my dad overreacts to everything and is unpredictable and my mom, having never had a job, is naggy and naive. my dad refuses to eat my mom's cooking after they fight and resorts to junk food. him having diabetes, this is obviously a concern. they fight on a weekly basis. my sister's no help either, she's in college and deals with it by detaching herself. that doesn't quite work for me. don't be worried about me. i used to break down in my bed and cry when i started to hear it, but i've recently realized it doesn't help. i like to think that i'm a stronger person for it. i've started actually going into the situation and trying to help, which i used to only do after a day or so. there's so many more details i could add but this is long enough already. tl;dr: how can a kid help her parents with their issues with each other?
