Parent Rant.
I'm new to Reddit and I just needed something rather then Tumblr or someone to vent to because obviously no one really cares and the only advice is pretty repetitive and does not work unless you've been through the same problem. I feel like my parents aren't seeking the full potential that I have academically, as a son and just every aspect of logic I've ever thought of. It's not like my parents have some deep hatred for me, after all I am their son. 16 years and I already feel like I'm parenting my self due to the same statement given to me when I ever ask my parents for advice or for guidance: "I'm too busy, you can learn on your own if you try". I understand that my parents believe that I have some what potential in solving anything if I'm using just my logic but then yet if they have such confidence in me, logically why do they question my intelligence? Regardless of what I say, it is just the same statement given."You are living under my roof", "I'm your father/mother", etc etc. Cliche bullshit. I won't deny the fact that they do let me live under their roof but constant criticism and negative reinforcement isn't going to fix anything and the worst part is that is all they can do, not once I've encountered a time in my life where my parents actually took the time to guide me through a hard time and actually fixed it. I've learned that through all this, I just know I should stop dwelling on what my parents think and just do the best to create an successful future for myself regardless of what anyone says, it just sucks to have an mentality towards your OWN fucking parents, I'd understand that towards strangers and your peers but the people who gave you birth and took the pledge of becoming your guidance through your life until you lie on that death bed. It just saddens me that even through anything my parents are too careless to fix anything they don't like about me but yet they can talk all that shit..
