What is Needed for my TV to be 3D?

Firstly, I apologize if this is the wrong subreddit.

I have a Sony Bravia HX929 TV. I'm interested in 3D, but am unsure as to what is needed. I've heard that some sort of after-market emitter is needed, and I've heard that all I need is 3D glasses. Can anyone answer that for me?
