Please help with my presentation to a counseling group
(Posted across r/anxiety, r/depression, and r/bipolarreddit. Apologies if this is a bother.)
In two weeks I'll be making a presentation to a counseling group at my church about depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder as based on the series Coping with Depression by The Open University. I personally have been diagnosed with cyclothymia, a low-end type of bipolar, and what struck me about the Coping with Depression series is that it told the story of these disorders from actual sufferers' viewpoints. This is why I decided to present the series myself rather than just have the group watch the videos unassisted.
Anywho, I strongly believe that everyone's story is different and that I cannot speak for everyone. Therefore I am asking if you all, whether or not these videos are new to you, could post in the comments here your reactions to the film and personal feelings on your diagnoses and experiences. These responses will be collated and handed out to the counselors at the meeting, but all names will be replaced with "Person 1" type names, and the location of this forum will remain anonymous. Obviously this is entirely voluntary. If there is a discussion that evolves and you feel compelled to make a comment in this thread that you would rather be redacted from the handout, please make a note of that in your comment.
Also if you have any advice for my presentation, it would be much appreciated! I'm rather anxious about it.
Thank you in advance for any insights you may provide. I feel that this presentation will help the counseling group serve my church and its surrounding community better in regard to mental health.
