[20/f] And really confused about how I feel about my bf [21/m] right now. Any advice much appreciated.

I know this could kind of also be in r/longdistance but I'm putting it here anyways. I've been with my bf for about 10 months now. We go to school together but live on opposite coasts, so I haven't seen him for around 2 months. This is my first relationship so I don't know if this is a normal phase or something unique to myself and my situation but I feel like I'm falling out of love with him. It's hard for me to recall how and why I love(d) him so much and things that I used to find endearing about him now just seem to annoy me. Thinking about our relationship more and more makes me feel claustrophobic and uncomfortable. My problem is that there are so many factors at play here that I'm having trouble figuring out how I actually feel and what's just a symptom of the situation. For instance:

  • First relationship, no experience with long-term. Just a phase?
  • Long-distance happening right now: is the physical separation just making me forget? Will I be just as in love with him as soon as I see him again (in six weeks)?
  • Personally have had trouble with commitment in the past: Am I just relapsing, or is this the normal progression of a mildly unsuccessful relationship?
  • Depression: just had a personal breakthrough in my depression and self harm. Feeling much better and progressing really well in the healing process. He is depressed as well and I feel a part of our relationship is based on that shared experience. Am I just associating him with my depression and trying to cut ties with everything that is remotely related to feeling that way? Do I subconsciously think he will 'drag me down' again, so to speak?

Ugh, this is so much. I don't even know how to approach this. Please share your experiences if you think they're at all relevant. All my friends are just saying its the long distance thing but I need to hear more comprehensive advise. HELP.

tl;dr can't tell if I'm falling out of love with him or i'm just inexperienced and being disillusioned by the extended separation.
