A Question about the DJM-800 and connecting an external controller.

I'm DJ'ing a bar on Thursday that has an in house DJM-800. I've never worked with one before and I'm wondering if I'll be able to connect my controller to one of the channels just via RCA or if I'll need to involve XLR somewhere in the chain? If I'm looking at it correctly, my thinking is that I can connect my master output RCA into one of the 4 channels on the back of the mixer. So say I want to be on the "1" channel, I connect them to the "line" RCA ports, vertically? My controller has an internal soundcard if that makes any difference.
