/r/Politics goes from criticizing the rich for not contributing enough to the poor, to criticizing Walmart for aiding Katrina victims in one thread.
I'm not the biggest fan of Walmart myself, as I do believe that it has had many detrimental affects on American society, but this is absolutely ridiculous.
The original quote was in response to someone asking why the ultra-rich don't donate, and when someone brought up Walmart donating to Katrina victims, he got downvoted and it was labelled as a marketing ploy. While I don't doubt that Walmart enjoyed the good press that their actions brought, this whole thing is a major catch 22. Not to mention the thread is for a link about how out of touch Romney's fundraiser was, while there was no mention on r/politics of Obama's exorbitant Hollywood fundraiser a couple months earlier. I'm a major Obama supporter...but cmon', fairness and perspective are needed sometimes.
