This book is amazing.

I'm not sure why I'm posting this, but I'm about 100 pages from the end of a Game of Thrones, and I have to say this is one of the most amazing books I've read in a long time. I'm normally not one to buy into more "popular" things (I thought the Hunger Games was a mediocre book at best, was horrified by how much the media loved it), but I recently picked up the Game of Thrones to see what all the fuss was about. Now, recently, I've haven't been reading as much as I used to. I discovered video games and the internet about 3 years ago, and while I used to be a huge bookworm, I suddenly found time to read. I thought something was wrong with me, but this book has helped me figure out that I'm really just running out of young adult books. This book completely rekindled my love for books. It might end up passing Lord of the Rings for the position of my all time favorite book. The characters are suburb, the plot is suspenseful, well done and tense and overall the book is just wonderful. I am, however, disappointed by the amount of incest in the book. Maybe there's more later, but I think there isn't a ridiculous amount of sex and incest compared to how much people talked about.

Wow, I just read over that and I sound like a giant fanboy. I'm not, I'm really not. I'm usually highly critical of media, especially books, but The Game of Thrones blew me away. I'm also being sent to camp in a week and a half, and I plan to bring the entire series with me, so hopefully by the time I get back I'll be caught up (without computer access I get a suprising amount of reading done, heh) and I'll be able to actually participate in this subreddit's discussion.

Erm, so anyways, just thought I would share. This is a very specific subreddit, so I figure there might be other people who enjoy this book as much as I am so far.

By the way, does the quality stay consistent? I'd hate this to turn into another Wheel of Time (though, to ASoIaF's credit, the plot isn't completely stolen from the Lord of the Rings).

TL;DR: The internet ruined reading for me, this amazing book is reminding me why I loved reading in the first place.
