Reddit, does anyone that subscribes to Directv know if we are really going to lose a bunch of channels tomorrow night?

I was watching Futurama tonight when a picture flashed across the screen asking Directv subscribers to call 800-531-5000 and request that we don't lose our favorite channels. Is it really true that they might take away twenty-six channels tomorrow? I don't think that I would even want cable anymore if I lost Comedy Central. We could lose: MTV, VH1, Nick, Comedy Central, BET, Spike, TVland, CMT, LOGO, etc. If you go to any of the websites that were listed as being dropped, they also list the shows being dropped and plea for people to complain. So, does anyone know what is going on? I had never even heard about this before tonight.
