What torture do you suffer because of your in laws or significant other's parents?

My boyfriend's father was in a motorcycle accident and now suffers from short term memory loss and other memory issues. He has called my by my boyfriend's ex's name for almost a year now. His mother is a Catholic extremist and absolutely despises my best friend who is gay. I have to hear her say things like "he was a good kid now he is a man of the devil."
