need help installing an OSX onto macbook pro

hi tech support

i bought my macbook pro a new SSD hard drive. i installed it and ran the OSX and got it to boot up but when it gets the the screen: select a destination, the hard drive is no where to be found.

i thought that maybe my SSD was DOA, so i plugged it into my PC (windows 7). windows 7 was able to detect it and it was working.

im not too familar with mac OSX systems. so any information would greatly apperciated!

also i have both the disk for leopard osx and/or lion osx
